EA Settings affecting Syntax

Target Type
Determines how sl= and tp= targets are computed.
sl=, tp=
Pips Price Percentage
SLTP placed x pips from current market price SLTP placed at price indicated (not recommended, quote differences). SLTP placed x percent from current market price (1% → sl=1).
Volume Type
Determines how volume is computed.
risk=
Lots Dollar % of Balance, Lots % of Balance, Margin % of Balance, Loss
Volume opened will be as indicated. Dynamic — if trade hits SL, risk= value is lost. (sl= required) Dynamic — 0.1 lot on $1000 account, 1 lot on $10,000, etc. Dynamic — “risk=1” will increase margin used by 1% Dynamic — if SL is hit, "risk=1" means losing 1% of balance (sl= required).
Pending Order Entry
Determines how your pending order’s (PO) entry price is computed. SLTPs are computed based on the Target Type.
price=
Pips Price Percentage
Sets PO at a specified number of pips away from current market price. Sets PO at a specified price from TradingView alert (not recommended). Sets PO at a specified percentage from current market price.
Account Filter
Determines the basis of the Account Filter.

Breakeven — moving SL to breakeven (profit = $0) after a number of pips, integers only.

Pips Trailing — constantly move SL in the direction of the trade based on pips, integers only.

Random Tips
  1. To enhance reliability and minimize time between signal and trade execution, utilize a Virtual Private Server (VPS).
  2. Access the Experts tab in your MetaTrader terminal by pressing F7.
  3. Limit yourself to only one instance of the PineConnector EA per License ID.
  4. With one instance of PineConnector EA, you can trade all symbols available in your Symbol List (CTRL+U).
  5. When testing new configurations or syntax in your EA, utilize manual alerts for evaluation.
  6. Continuously monitor the Experts tab for an understanding of how the EA processes your alerts.
  7. Create alerts on TradingView by pressing Alt+A (Windows) or Option+A (Mac).
  8. Considering there are quote differences between TradingView and your MT4/5 broker, use pips and percentage target types. 1. For enhanced trading potential, we recommend using a broker with TradingView datafeed and accessibility on MetaTrader such as this.
  9. When reporting bugs, accompany your report with a screenshot of the Experts output to facilitate prompt review.
  10. Prior to implementing a new script or set of EA settings in live trading, run a demo test first.
